Agreed. Working on the specific soulutions will be fun and interesting. I would scour orgs like the Center for Media and Democracy, Mediawatch and others for their suggestions, and encourage them all to help us in drafting the specific solutions we will eventually vote on.

TruthMerchant,
thanks for this post. I hope it gets a lot of reads. I'll point out you use the word "must" in your last sentence, so I am wondering if that is also an irrational conclusion. :-)) When the words "must" or "only" are used, and it also seems irrational, please point to the specific usage and we can address your concern that something we are presenting may be irrational. If you have better language, we are happy to include it. Again, this takes a little time because we are all volunteer at this point. Simply send us the redraft and we will put it up for consideration anytime. Thanks.

Given the last 20 years of American decision makers, America has yet to see brilliance it is taught to rely upon that can make America the nation she was before that 20 year period began.

Many millionaires and billionaires have been created by private enterprise, even by government enterprise, but it has taken place by the removal of barriers to permit risk takers, and not to preserve American principles. America has gone global but what she has gained and lost in the process is a huge question in the minds of most citizens.

America wasn't made to create millionaires or billionaires; it was made to create freedom with responsibility. There is no indication that any of America's leadership has done anything but corrupt her principles, challenge her values, and risk her survival. Most of that wealth is currently untaxable - which tells a lot about how and why it was permitted for self enrichment. The American dream was cultivated for ordinary citizens, not for would be millionaires. Keeping score works, but by whose scale?

While I agree many on both side need to go among the long term "career politicians" who OWN the House and Senate..Some like Bernie Sanders and a few others must stay. However Ben Nelson of NE who wants to take birth control away from women, MUST GO regardless of if he is a democrat or not. We need politicians who vote for OUR agenda not the oldest member of the HOuse of Senate who ruins the hopes of those we elect and forces them to play games to get anything done that we send them to Washington to do. Many people elected these days have to be checked into to see WHO sponsoirs them. If the 1% is supporting them and their largest donor, this should be seen as a RED FLAG to NOT elect this person. The Koch brothers have been buying Governors for a long time. They must be stopped, they don't even live in Wisconsin and look what they have done via Walker!.

I would like to see more FCC enforcements in media for TRUTH to the Public, the largest divide in America is caused media caused misinformation, and the literal lies pushed by politicians who want to fool people, and unfortunately these people lie to the public and many don't seem to know the difference. Many fail to see Politicians LIE all the time.,.This must end and so media ownership must be broken up and NOT controlled by Roger Aile's or Rupert Murdoch, or any one person to control. Owning the media is to own the message people heard. Look how media tried to condemn the 99% movement!.

Words like "must" and "only" are not part of rational dialogue. I would agree that "protest" is not going to solve anything. But imprinting an ideological frame on all discussion is out of place at this point. We must focus on that in which we are in agreement and leave the labels and the resulting infrastructure to discussion.

? I am surprised to hear that. I get lot's of positive comments, and have worn this for 12 years or more....I am not too sure I want to be judged by it, or are you coming from the place that
as we reach out to more conservative Americans, an earring could be a problem? If that's the case, I don't think those people will be able to embrace something as radical as an actual peoples congress. Your thoughts welcome on this topic, please let me know what your concern is. I might be swayed, but it sounds rather frivolous.

Joyeck. As founder, I do not see the People's Congress as a protest, but as a direct assault on the very corrupt forces which you suggest rightfully that we should replace. The failure of Americans to remember and embrace their rightful duty and power to act as the legitimate rulers and owners of the Nation is what concerns me about your response. Inventing a new system which will live in the shadow of an empire like the United States, does nothing to address the real threats of nuclear armaments and climate change, and the run away power of multinational corporations. We all need to come to terms with what "We the People" means. If Americans can own their rightful place as the ultimate authority OVER government, then we can also transform the economy into one which is more just. That is certainly my longer term goal personally, but until the corruption of power is contained, I see little hope of a new paradigm replacing the current one. My opinion, and one which I hope you will consider further.

Right on! It's been so busy I apologize for getting back after so long. We are in touch with MTA and will reach out to Cenk of course. It looks like there is a great deal of synergy within the personhood movement even though it is not readily visible on the surface. I'll be seeing David Cobb on Jan 28th here in Berkeley and will be sure to suggest more collaboration etc. Keep the fire burning!
