Day 5: Constitutional and Structural Changes

Updating the Nation’s Operating System

Every constitution, then, and every law, naturally expires at the end of 19 years.  If it be enforced longer, it is an act of force and not of right.
Thomas Jefferson

Day 4 Join!

  • A. Nonymous

Remove the prayers and I’ll be there.. ABSOLUTE Separation of church and state MUST be reiterated, this time in no uncertain terms. The founding fathers got a lot of things right: Freedom of Speech, Right to bare arms (The Second Amendment guarantees the First against the tyranny of government ) and separation of church and state. The magic man in the sky only serves to divide, and a house divided, can not stand!

    • Johnmulkins

I think there is room for agreement on this issue. What prayers are you envisioning? We are not proposing we have the Pope show up and bless the crowd. Prayers in this case refer to something much more universal. Perhaps something by a Hopi Indian Chief or an Alaskan Tribal leader. Please don’t assume that it will be utterly distasteful or inappropriate. Rather, take the idea and develop it into something that is much more agreeable to everyone. Remember, this is YOUR Congress, not mine. Better we engage in constructive ideas than just opt out over a single issue. A very large groups will have a variety of opinions, so it all requires some give and take, some healthy discussion is required.. Peace A. Nonymous.

Tavis Smiley

An outspoken Television personality Author and voice for change. Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West conducted a nine-state, 18-city tour to highlight the plight of poor people of all races, colors, and creeds so they will not be forgotten, ignored, or rendered invisible during this difficult and dangerous time of economic deprivation and political cowardice.

Alan Grayson

One of the most qualified people in the U.S. is running for office and he needs your support. Grayson is a hard hitting Harvard graduate who worked his way through school. In addition to credentials in law, Grayson has an advanced degree in gerontology, a resource that would bring insight on the feasibility and sustainability of all issues surrounding retirement and health care for senior citizens.

Elizabeth Warren

Elizabeth Warren’s dedication and impeccable methods in research were used extensively to create the (CFPB) Consumer Financial Protections Bureau. In fact, Ms. Warren’s work is so discouraging to corporate interests that she moved aside so that Richard Cordray could head the agency. The end result is that now Ms. Warren is running to become part of congress. The people could not ask for a better leader for liberty.
